The Imperativ (imperative) in German is used to give orders, make requests, invite, or give instructions. The imperative is only formed for du (you - informal singular), ihr (you - informal plural), and Sie (you - formal).
Why?
Because you can only give commands to someone you are directly addressing. So you don’t form the imperative for people not involved in the conversation.
✨ 1. Imperativ sentence structure
🔹 1.1. "du" (you - informal singular)
📌 Rule:
- Use the verb stem (Verbstamm), drop the -st ending of the du-form.
- No "du" in the sentence!
Examples:

📌 Rule:
- Use the ihr-form of the verb, keep the -t ending.
- No "ihr" in the sentence!

📌 Rule:
- Use the Sie-form of the verb.
- Place "Sie" after the verb for formality.

Add "bitte" to make the request more polite.

🔸 3.1. Irregular verbs
Some irregular verbs change their stem in the imperative.

🔸 3.2. Negative imperative
Add "nicht" or "kein" to negate a command.
Examples:
- Geh nicht! (Don’t go!)
- Seid nicht so laut! (Don’t be so loud! - plural)
- Essen Sie das nicht! (Don’t eat that! - formal)
